It takes away from your natural beauty and in some cases, may make it difficult to even hold as conversation with people as it draws their attention away from what you are saying.

This can not only be demoralizing, it may greatly affect one’s self-esteem and effectiveness.

The cost of removing a mole depends on the method of removal, the number of moles to be removed, whether the mole is cancerous, the type of physician/surgeon/specialist, and whether the procedure is done in the doctor’s office, a surgical theatre, or a hospital. Charges vary from $100 and $800 per mole.

Cost of Mole Removal Creams

For a cheap mole removal option, you can go the do it yourself route. There are many creams and ointments in the market that work well, especially with small moles. They do not provide instant results like surgery but they are cheaper.

For instance, a dermatology brand name like Dermatend can be purchased online for about $40. You do not incur any consultation, hospital, or specialist fees.

It generally takes between 2 and 5 sessions to completely remove all the target moles. The whole procedure comes to a total cost of anywhere between $500 and $1,200.

Extra Costs for Mole Removal

One expected cost is for painkillers which may be prescribed after the procedure. If the mole has a suspicious shape or pattern, the doctor may do a lab test.

You may have to pay between $200 and $400 for the test. No matter the kind of procedure, you may have to come back for repeat checkups and this will cost you more. This is especially important if the doctor used the shaving method to remove the mole. This is because the mole may grow back on the same spot.

If you have a small mole located in an inconspicuous area of your body, then your regular physician can easily shave it off right in his/her office for about $60 to $300.

You may also request your doctor to list the procedure down as pre-cancer treatment rather than cosmetic. That way, it may be covered by Medicare or your private insurer.

  1. Removing moles can really be expensive that is why if you would want to remove it naturally there are natural remedies for it. However, it can take you for several and weeks to work. There is also a laser procedure that can help eliminate these moles. I haven’t tried of using creams and I am very curious of this cream mentioned above. I will suggest this to a friend of mine.
